What is the CPIO file?
The CPIO file extension can be associated with several types of files. Most often, however, a file with such an extension is associated with the Unix CPIO Archive format. CPIO files are supported by Linux, Mac OS, Windows operating systems. The CPIO file is one of the Encoded Files files, just like 236 of the other files found in our file information database.
A program that can open the CPIO file is e.g. iArchiver. However, you can also use other applications, e.g. PeaZip, IZArc, 7-Zip, Apache Commons Compress.
