What is the LIF file?
The LIF file extension can be associated with several types of files. Most often, however, a file with such an extension is associated with the Leica Image Format format. LIF files are supported by Linux, Mac OS, Windows operating systems. The LIF file is one of the Raster Image Files files, just like 522 of the other files found in our file information database. The creator of Leica Image Format is Leica Microsystems.
A program that can open the LIF file is e.g. ImageJ. This software was released by Wayne Rasband. However, you can also use other applications, e.g. Imaris, Leica Application Suite, OMERO.
