What is the MARKDOWN file?
The MARKDOWN file extension can be associated with several types of files. Most often, however, a file with such an extension is associated with the Markdown Documentation Format format. MARKDOWN files are supported by Linux, Mac OS, Web, Windows operating systems. The MARKDOWN file is one of the Developer Files files, just like 1205 of the other files found in our file information database. The creator of Markdown Documentation Format is John Gruber.
A program that can open the MARKDOWN file is e.g. TextMate. This software was released by MacroMates Ltd.. However, you can also use other applications, e.g. gVim, Daring Fireball Markdown, Windows Notepad, NotePad++ text editor.

How to open a .MARKDOWN file?
If you have problems opening the file MARKDOWN, then in most cases the problem is only the lack of the proper application installed. Select one of the programs from the list and install it on your device. The operating system should automatically associate the MARKDOWN file format with the installed program. If not, right click on your MARKDOWN file and select from the menu "Open with" . Then select the installed program and confirm the operation. Now all MARKDOWN files should automatically open with the selected program.
