What is the 3DS file?
The 3DS file extension can be associated with several types of files. Most often, however, a file with such an extension is associated with the 3D Studio Scene format. 3DS files are supported by Mac OS, Windows operating systems. The 3DS file is one of the 3D Image Files files, just like 622 of the other files found in our file information database. The creator of 3D Studio Scene is Autodesk.
A program that can open the 3DS file is e.g. TurboCAD. This software was released by IMSI/Design, LLC.. However, you can also use other applications, e.g. 3ds Max, SketchUp, MeshLab, MAXON Cinema 4D.

How to open a .3DS file?
If you have problems opening the file 3DS, then in most cases the problem is only the lack of the proper application installed. Select one of the programs from the list and install it on your device. The operating system should automatically associate the 3DS file format with the installed program. If not, right click on your 3DS file and select from the menu "Open with" . Then select the installed program and confirm the operation. Now all 3DS files should automatically open with the selected program.
